Update and Other Stuff!

I just wanted to give you all an update and a BIG thank you for all you are!

I talked with my landlord on Friday afternoon. I didn’t think she had a heart. But she ended up being very understanding and is willing to work with us. Which is a big weight lifted off our shoulders! The other bills are still a work in progress. So please if you don’t mind, continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers! Just knowing that you all were sending so much love and the prayers was a HUGE blessing to me! Thank you for being you! I have thanked God for each of you so many times this weekend.

On another note, I have been entering Giveaways since I started this blog thing. I couldn’t figure out why because I never win anything (that was always my kind of luck!) Thanks to Janet, I have one the book Any Minute by Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford. Thank you again Janet! It made my weekend. I won this for a reason and can’t wait to get it and start reading! :)

Also, Laurie at Tip Junkie is celebrating her 2 year anniversary and is having a week of giveaways! It's a Going Dot Com Birthday Bash! Go check her out! I love her ideas! Congrats on two years, Laurie! (By the way, I tried to post the button but it would not work!)

It’s a new week and I am ready for whatever comes my way, I think, ha-ha!

Chele's Recommended Links

A quick note from thoughts! My son's team won their baseball tournament last night! The best part was watching a bunch of youth cheering on each other! YAY!!

Kirwin at Graceful Creative posted about how much better it feels to actually put on make up and do your hair everyday. (Some SAHM's, lack in that area when we are not in public everyday!) She is thinking of doing a 30 day challenge. Check out her post A new beauty regimen?

I found a blog I really have enjoyed reading! She is actually doing a book club on Tuesdays called You Can Change, Really You Can. I would recommend going to check Burning Bushes. Every post so far has been an eye opener for me!

Go on over to Keeper of the Home. She speaks about giving control over to God and Hope in His Goodness. Great reminder that we are human!

Michelle over at Scribbit gives her Favorite Crafts (and Others) Books. Great book ideas!! I enjoy reading her blogs!

And lastly, I can't resist! :) I have to give a shout out to Ang at the Creative Mama (once again). She featured me for Get Your Creative On this week! Me of all people, haha! A big thanks to you, Ang!! Please go check her blog out, it has been an inspiration to me since day one!! You won't regret it!! :)

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend! Don't forget to come join me on Monday for our first Feeding Time - Weekly Bible Study! :)

Apology DEFINITELY in order

I apologize for my outburst earlier. Especially since my good online friend, Ang at the Creative Mama mentioned me on her list of links! Goodness! What was I thinking! That outburst is not like me but I am very frustrated with Blogger. I am looking into other sites and hosts. Also praying about it! I will let you know as soon as I know where it will be. I'm wondering if an actual domain with Blogger is worth it but I am afraid to spend the money and it not be any better. I'm working on it! I will talk with you all tomorrow.

Have a peaceful evening!!

Need Help!! Please...

I've got one of those need help and need to get this off my chest times!!

I am really getting irritated with Blogger and the things I cannot do on it! Some of you have wordpress themes for your blogs, which are so much simpler looking which I want! Do or did you use Wordpress.org or Wordpress.com? Do you have any pros and cons you can tell me about it? Please help!! I have been messing around with this since I started and I am not getting anywhere!! I am not going to download just any template because I can't get it on Blogger! If you use Blogger you would know that there are a very, very minimal amount of templates! I really don't need my computer to crash trying to download a template to use that may not work anyway! Also, I am interested in what web hosting you use (for those that have their own domain!)

Okay there is my rambling for the week!! Sorry about that but we all need to do it sometimes!!

If you have any information at all to help me, it would be so gratefully appreciated!! You can email me too (6lifesblessings at gmail dot com)!

Thanks to you all for supporting me through this! God and I have great plans for this blogging adventure, I am just trying to get there!! :)

Good News!

I felt the need to write this, it's been eating at me for weeks... I hear you God!! Yes I will still do Thirsty Thursday!

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news" Isaiah 52:7

I have a myspace account and a facebook account that I use mainly to keep in touch with family and friends. Some of my family and friends are believers of Christ, some are not. This does not keep me from telling what my status really is! If I have a day that the devil is trying to get me, I announce it and write that I believe in my Lord and Savior to get rid of that irritating devil! If I have a day that I just want the "world" to know that I am in love with Jesus, I say it with JOY! I refuse to hide who I am, if they don't like it, oh well. That sounds harsh but I have not had one friend, stop being my friend. If they don't like it or if it's not doing something for them...they would delete me from their friends list. Sometimes I see someone needs a prayer or someone desperately needs to know the Good News, I announce it. No, I don't single them out...I'm kind of sneaky about it. ;)

If only those who don't believe knew who Jesus is and what He has done and continues to do even for the unbeliever!! WOW! You would be in awe! I love all my friends and family and want them to believe so bad, it hurts! I want them to experience what I do on a daily basis. I want them to not just be happy but have JOY in their lives! How awesome is it that because we are believers every situation is totally different from the unbelievers... we have hope, love, faith and so much more ...something to lean on and hang on too! Thank you God for that!!! The peace that you have when you know someone is there carrying you through the tough times, oh how I wish they knew!! I know my Lord carries me daily! We are human (even as a believer) and we have times we question if we will have the money to pay that bill (oh I am so guilty) or how we can live without that loved one. Then it hits us, we know everything will be okay because our Lord is going to get us through. He is going to protect us, love us and help us through anything and everything!!! God is Good. I pray for all the unbelievers that they can experience what I have!

Do you have unbelievers around you on a daily basis? How do you let them know about the Good News? Are you an unbeliever and want to know more? (please tell me, I will do everything I can to help you learn more!) For the believers and the unbelievers...Are you willing to follow me through the Bible, front to back, weekly? A hint...Feeding time!

Many, many blessings to you all on this Tuesday!

The Devil thought he got me!!

THE WEEKEND!!

We had a wonderful weekend. I kind of just forgot about it all (you know, bills and what I have to accomplish this week) and I was pretty much lazy!!

We had a baseball game Friday night. Our two youngest stayed with their Grandma. We like to do this every now and then so our 2 oldest boys can get time with us (without the neediness of our younger ones). We went with our church. It never ceases to amaze me how much fun we have with them on adventures like this! It always reminds me that I don't have to drink alcohol to have fun!! I used to think that way but not since we have found our church (6 years ago)! As you see my husband and 2 oldest really enjoyed themselves as well!

Saturday we had a yard sale. I wish I would've thought to take pictures before and after of the yard sale! We made out pretty well! We live down a dirt road, so my oldest decided to go up to the end of the road and hold up a big yard sale sign. Most of the people that stopped said they stopped only because they saw him. He's a good boy, he stood up there for almost 4 hours and he got to make money for it too!!

Sunday we had church and came home to get ready for my brother in-law and his wife to come visit. In the midst of it, I hit my head really hard on the freezer door. Seriously, almost knocked me out. I have a huge knot on my head and broke the skin. I have been dealing with my head hurting since then. I don't know how long you can have symptoms from a concussion but I believe I am still trying to get rid of it! Even though this happened, I took some ibuprofen and lived with it for the day. My kids enjoyed themselves and I enjoyed watching them play! My husband and his brother built some horseshoe pits in our backyard (we enjoy playing that, I know it's redneck!) So we ended up playing horseshoes all afternoon and playing some cards that night. It was really peaceful and fun!!

Monday, one of my husband's other brothers (he has 5 brothers) came over with his wife and daughter and we enjoyed some simple time with them. We ate burgers and dogs. The kids played together. Of course, they played in the house! I had enough of the sun the day before and my head was killing me! We have not spent time with them in awhile. It was much needed. By the time they left I was ready for bed!

It was a long weekend of keeping busy. BUT, it was a nice kind of busy. Spending it with family and friends. I hope everyone had a fun weekend! I know I did, inspite of my concussion!

TODAY

This morning I woke up wishing I could go back to the weekend. To forget about it all. As most know (if you read my blog regularly), we struggle with our finances. I am such a horrible procrastinator that I put off going to pay two bills. Well I had to pay those bills TODAY or we would not have any internet, phone or electric!! My plan was to go take care of all of that this morning. Then it happened!! I had to get my husband to come home because our car was overheating. We never ever had a problem with that car! I also had to tell my best friend I could not meet with her today (we meet every Tuesday) because of the car and the bills I had to go pay. I was so mad at myself for procrastinating!! On top of it all, my head still hurts and my stomach has been bothering me all day. (My 3 year old keeps saying he is not feeling well either!) All of this has stopped me in my tracks. I have to get the Devil off my back!!! I wasn't going to write about my weekend until I realized that the Devil didn't want me too. I had to much of a great, peaceful weekend and he hates that! I refuse to let him get to me!! I have been praying all day and it is working! Our bills are taken care of for now. My car didn't overheat on me while out paying bills. I did a devotion this morning and got some cleaning done. Most of all, I am not on the verge of tears anymore! So I thought I would share my weekend and my day today. Such a difference from the beautiful weekend to today. I am so thankful for this past weekend with family and friends! I can't believe I'm about to say this but I am thankful for this morning as well. It made me realize that when you think you aren't vulnerable...you are the most vulnerable! The Devil thought he got me but he didn't!!! My Lord protected me and my family in this mess! God is good, all the time!!

If you didn't get anything from this rambling post, please get this! Don't ever think that you are NOT vulnerable because you are having too much fun, peace, beauty, and more. That is when you are the MOST vulnerable!! Read the word and pray... that is what got the Devil off my back today!!

Many, Many Blessings!

Ponderings

My wonderful Mom is here visiting this weekend. I am so thankful. I was thinking about the things I do that my Mom used to do to me. You know, those things that you said "I will never do that to my kids". I can give you something I thought of. I always said I would never lick my finger and wipe my child's dirt or sticky food off their cheeks or anywhere on their face. Really it's unsanitary but a lot of Mom's do it! Yes, you guessed it... I do that to my children. I giggle everytime I do it! I also catch myself saying things my Mom used to say and it taught me some real lessons in life. I can only pray that it touches my children like it did me. Things like kill them with kindness and everything happens for a reason. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you (that is said many different ways but you get the jist!) Oh I could go on and on but I really need to get off here for now and visit more with my parents!

What kind of things do you do or say that you catch yourself doing or saying to your children? I would love to hear them!

Have a beautiful Mother's Day weekend!!

Blessings,
Chele

What does Mother's day mean to you?

I have so much to be thankful for. I have 4 wonderful, healthy children.

They do keep me busy. I do get frustrated, scared, and I hurt for them frequently. I sometimes catch myself wanting to protect them. I am not God, I cannot control everything that happens to them. I can only pray for them and have the wisdom to give them the right encouragement and words to say. Don't get me wrong, I still have a job to do but I need to remember that I cannot do it all by myself!!

My children are 3 boys (ages 13, 11, 3) and a girl (age 6). They are healthy, active (very!), friendly, loving and so much more. Most of all, they know Jesus and love Him. They pray all the time. They point out things I don't see sometimes. Motherhood is amazing! God would not have given me 4 children if I couldn't take care of them. The point is, I can only do it with His help! We are not "well off" but our children always seem to get what they need. God-incidents happen all the time (not coincidence)! There has been times where I wasn't sure they would have food to eat or a roof over our heads. He has always provided for us and will continue. I believe in God and I trust God to get me through anything!

I have learned that children need to be taught the "Fruits of the Spirit". (We are actually doing that with our Youth Sunday School class right now.) It is who we should be. It will show that we love the Lord and we are Christians! What an awesome mentor we can be to our children!

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

If we are able receive the fruits of the Spirit, we will in return pass them down as a gift to our children. What a gift for our children!!! We should be thankful for that same gift that has been handed down by our Father! Try working on those fruits of the Spirit. What a change you will feel and see!

I can say that I need to pray for more patience and self-control. Those are the two hardest for me! I work on them daily!

As a Mother, we have our times of being fearful for our children. Scared we cannot provide or protect. Terrified that we cannot do our part! Give it to God, trust him to take care of it! All I can say to that, is pray, pray, pray!! It works, I am proof!

I am a normal Christian mother that wants all for my children I can give them. I can't tell you how many times I have been frustrated with my lack of organization in my home (and life) but I know that I am doing the best I can.

I welcome you to leave any comments of encouragement or to just tell me that I am not alone in this! LOL.

Answer this: On the list of the Fruits of the Spirit, what do you need to work on?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU ALL!!!

Blessings,
Chele
