Thirsty Thursday - Faithfulness

Another fruit of the spirit is faithfulness. If you are ever need to find the word faithfulness or faithful… Psalms has got it going on!!

“For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.” Psalms 117:2

I just love what God tells us through his word. The Lord is faithful towards us just like He wants us to be towards Him. He keeps his promises (Psalms 145:13) to us. Oh boy, how many times do we not keep our promises? I am guilty right now. I know this person isn’t upset with me but it will bother me to the day I fix it (which will be today!) I promised a recipe to someone way back when I started this blog and have yet to send it to her. It’s coming Ang, Check your email! See how that works! (all of the above happened while I was writing this, I did not plan it!) God is Amazing!!

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart” Psalms 91:4

How cool is that?! He is faithful in his protection for us! Kind of like our faithfulness to our children. We want to shield them to keep them from harm. God wants to do that with His children, us! What a beautiful picture of God’s wings surrounding us to protect us! God is Good!!

From reading the many scriptures about faithfulness. I see a lot of the same thing. God is faithful to us, the ones faithful to him! Our faith is our shield! Love it!! As many times as I read the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) I never put this brilliant thought in my head! By the way, The Armor of God is one of my favorite verses of the Bible. I will be going over this at some point but until then go check it out! We need to be faithful in everything we say and do, which is hard to do in this real world but having it in your heart is what protects you from this crazy world!

Did you ever think of faithfulness being a shield to protect us? Do you need to work on knowing His word to be more faithful to God and to others? Does your faith keep you going in uncertainties and struggles (I know it is what keeps me going)?

Lord God, Thank you for your promises of protection and thank you for your love and faithfulness towards us. Please keep your wings upon us as a shield to protect us from the real world so that we can do more for you! In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN!!

Are You Not Entertained ?

*No it is not me but can you picture us Mom’s with our shields to fight off the evil of the world? Ha-ha! (Found through Flickr)

Many Blessings to you all!

  1. I think we definitely need His Word in our hearts to keep our faith and faithfulness where it should be...looking UP, so that we can keep pouring it OUT. The Word is our sword and faith is our shield. They work together. Without faith...I'm not sure where I'd be and I'm not looking to find out ;)

  2. Thank you SO MUCH for this post! I not only need to be more deliberate, but there's something that I owe to someone and I've really been lazy about getting it done. I'm really good about talking myself into excuses where it's been concerned (ie-I can't find the right pieces to make it for the person.)but I've finally got it on order and as soon as the parts come in the mail, I WILL finish it. Maybe then I won't feel so disconnected all the time. I'm sure now that it's standing in between God and I. How silly I've been. Thanks for the enlightenment!!

  4. When I see big problems and confusion, I find it easy to start asking God for direction and help, but I have realized it is the daily grind that really calls me to faithfulness. Giving it all to him from the simple joy of a happy summer day to grumbling over a list of unfinished chores is what is building my faith. I guess I am starting to see him in everything-big or little. Nice post! Thanks!
